About
Kevin James started in hospitality. Through further education, study, and practice, the work expanded into sensitivity, communication, and leadership coaching. The thread connecting all of it: how adults actually change behavior at work.
His Master’s in Organizational Change from York St. John University is part of that arc. The rest is 25 years of hands-on practice across hundreds of clients on five continents — and a stubborn belief that real change happens through practice, reflection, and accountability, not through one-off lectures.
He’s been known to tell a joke or two…or three. But underneath the warmth is a practitioner who takes adult learning seriously. Today, hospitality is roughly a third of the work; the bigger picture is sensitivity, harassment prevention, manager development, and DEI programming for organizations across industries.
Kevin James joined Oculus in 2007 after a stretch at a large training firm where the off-the-shelf programmes felt bland and quickly forgotten. Pre-training, he worked in HR, Marketing, Hotel Sales, and Operations — so when he’s coaching managers, he’s also been the manager.
When he isn’t on the road delivering programmes, Kevin James splits his time between Vancouver and Sevilla. If you can pin him down, tell us how that happens. He never shows up for dinner.
